“Society only exists as a mental concept; in the real world there are only individuals” – Oscar Wilde
Last month, I shared a little of my encounter with a survivor of child trafficking who was trafficked to help pay the family mortgage, and how this sent me down a rabbit hole to unmask modern slavery and ask the question, what if there is another story?
And, if you joined our recent Freedom Summit, you will have received insights and guidance from each of our speakers bringing their unique gifts to empower you to shift Out of the Darkness and into the Light. (HINT: It’s all connected…)
Light essentially means illumination of the mind. We make the unconscious conscious so that we can make better informed choices and take responsibility for our actions rather than operating on autopilot.
You see, until we choose to individuate, we are simply carbon copies of our forefathers. In the past, it was common for young adults to learn the ropes of the family business, and so it goes on…
We recreate the same patterns of learned behaviour and, until one of us decides to break the “curse”, we collectively create the same generational stories, over and over again. Perhaps why we see such destruction, pain and suffering in the world is because we are living someone else’s story, repeating the same unconscious behaviours and, because they weren’t healed in one generation, they grow as they are passed down the line.
In the case of the survivor, it appears that what she was subjected to was “normal” in her family. It had been going on for generations and it was likely a family “business”.
What was being illuminated in my life at that time mirrored the grooming tactics I had learned about in modern slavery and human trafficking. These grooming tactics are so ingrained in society, they’ve become “normal”.
Be it within the family or within society, we are “groomed” into a role that serves the wants and needs of the structure. When you serve your superiors well, you are praised and rewarded, either in status or material wealth. Yet, if your behaviour is displeasing then it is met with shame and punishment.
There is a deeply ingrained belief that we must submit to authority figures in order to survive – that our parent, teacher, minister knows what’s best for us – and there is a deep-seated fear of punishment if we go against the grain. As innocent children, we didn’t know how to play the game of life and so we looked to others to tell us what to do and how to do it. Others before us had been moulded in the same way, never seemingly questioning what they were told was required of them. We conformed, even if it didn’t feel good, because we depended on them for survival.
Essentially, our collective consciousness is made up of all of humanity’s unhealed wounds being projected onto the world stage as a play of shadows.
The true survival of humanity depends on our willingness to break free from our illusory world and attain personal sovereignty; to mature from innocence to individuality. This is the path that offers true growth and survival because, when we are in alignment with our soul’s essence, we are living a life that is true for us. We find joy in sharing our unique gifts with the world and life becomes an exciting adventure beyond our wildest dreams!
Until then, we are living an illusory life based on the self-concept we have created as a result of our conditioning.
Our life only becomes real, when we get real!
Can you imagine what the real world might look like?
I would love to hear from you – are you ready to get support and awaken a greater life story? I invite you to consider if you’re ready to get real.
