“There is no such thing as work-life balance – it is all life. The balance has to be within you” Sadhguru

Life felt hard. I often seemed to be striving or doing things out of obligation rather than because it brought me joy. I was dissatisfied and disorganised, wasting valuable time and never quite feeling “in the moment”.

If you can relate, your life is likely out of balance.

When the areas of our lives aren’t balanced and we’re focusing too much on any one area, we’ll be left feeling overwhelmed, guilty and frustrated that whatever we do or have is never quite enough yet.

The good news is that balance can be achieved regardless of how busy your life may be. The secret is to consciously seek out ways to achieve balance and to recognise how essential fulfilment in life is to you.

It begins with inner balance.

Making time for self-care and recognising that you are important enough to take time for yourself is necessary for achieving this.

3 keys to personal freedom:
1. Notice what obligations feed your energy and which ones drain you
2. Practice the fine art of saying “no”
3. Spend less, do less and enjoy the simple pleasures of life

Achieving inner balance is essential for your overall health and wellbeing. So, let yourself off the hook for any “shortcomings” and balance progress and kindness within.

When you take care of yourself first and focus on what matters most, the rest will follow.
